Night Market

Night market is a great crowd attracting event. Besides, one cannot deny that it also attracts all my senses. It is as if all my senses are in full gear at a night market.I would like to describe the scene and my feelings at the night market.

The dark sky above me was lit up by the glow of a myriad tiny, twinkling stars. The moon had came out and in the luminous light, the street started to be busy andcrowded. Many cars and vans were arriving at the same time . Every hawker was busy setting up their stalls to start their business in the night market. In a flash, silence and peace no longer exist.Ladies were wearing colourful scarves and some are holding their children's hands, going to scout for their needs in the night market. The bigger stalls ,under large multi-coloured umbrellas were overflowing with all kinds of plastic wares, shimmering fish, glittering semi-precious stones and colourful trendy clothes. Mostly girls to women were attracted to that stall.

The noisy chatter from the crowd of people had torn the quietness in the peaceful dark night.Hawkers from each stalls were having a roaring business. The vendors were shouting with a hoarse voice ,trying to entice their customers to buy their wares. Despite the fact that goods were selling at an affordable price , housewives were bargaining at the top of their voices for a more reasonable price. Besides , music blared from radios and hifi sets. The clanging sounds made by the metal ladles as they hit against the metal works could be heard. A baby's crying rose the noise level in the mobbed night market. Conversation buzzed as men stood clustered around the stalls looking at the variety of things on sale. The whole place looked like ants walking around trying to find some food preparing for winter's arrival.

Night market is like a food heaven for residents because they can find different food with wide range of varieties . Thus, aroma of fresh cooked food are spread all over the place, carried by the soft breeze. From the boiling contents, came a sweet fruity aroma that makes your stomach growl for hunger and long for the snack with its sweet crispy batter and its soft pulpy inside. Moreover, the tantalizing aroma of my hot , spicy curry whetted my appetite and made me feel very hungry. On the other hand, the strong smell of rotting fish and stinky tofu hit their nostrils and they were forced to hold their noses and walk away quickly!

People who visited the night market were packed like sardines in a tin since it was populous . As soon as the hawkers started selling goods, people rushed toward the stalls, pushing each other elbow-to-elbow and scrambled for goods.Sometimes, the hawkers sand vendors became irritated and screamed themselves croaking .Parents secured their children's hands at the overcrowd night market so that they will never be abandoned . Visitors were closely packed like wall-to-wall.

The night market is massed during holidays. Then the number of makeshift stalls increase and they cause severe traffic. In spite of selling all sorts of wares, sellers enjoy brisk sales selling mouth-watering snacks and thirst-quenching drinks to customers who are eager to take advantage of the cheap prices.
